January 2020 Energy Report and Astrology ft. Sacred Reiki

January finally sees us enter the long awaited year or 2020. There has been much speculation about what January may hold for us individually and globally and lets be honest, we have no way of truly knowing, but we don't have long to wait to find out. So lets dive straight into the energy, the mythology and the ancient traditions of this month and what it will personally hold for you.

So the chances are, without you consciously knowing, you have been preparing for this significant month for some time. What is brewing for 2020 is not happening overnight. These changes, these upgrades and these waves of energy will have been bubbling in the undercurrent of our lives for months, if not a couple of years and while we may not see the full outcome or direction until 2020, we are being prepped right now. It's been said that if you look back in 2019, in particular the months March, Sept-Oct and this current magickal month of December, you will have been and are being called to change, to release and awaken and to step into your more authentic self. Although you would have been prepping as far back as December 2017 when saturn and pluto first met in capricorn. But more about this in a minute.

2020 is said to carry some of the most potent cosmic energy we have seen in a long time (due to the peak alignment of Pluto and Saturn ). This will see the vibration of the planet shift and rise and as the energy draws closer, our spiritual growth will be accelerated.

From an angelic numerology aspect, the number 2020 is a combination of the two numbers 2 and 0, and it is repeated. Therefore, it carries amplified energy. In numerology, the number 2 resonates with relationships, your intuition and the very purpose of life.

The number 0 is associated with spiritual growth, its journey, life cycles and the connection with the spiritual world and God. When two zero’s appear (like they do in 2020) it is an indication that you are about to enter a new chapter in your life.

Numerologist Peter Vaughan is associating 2020 with the suns activity. His studies have found that the sun flips its poles, 180 degrees, every 11 years and then flips again in another 11 years, totalling 22 years. (Which is represented by the year 2020). He says that this is something that has been going on for as long as we know and as it does so, it leaves beautiful magnetic solar waves in its wake as it races round our Galaxy at 450,000 miles per hour – could this be the foundation of the predicted cosmic energy coming?

So...Lets start at the beginning of the month and work through.

How do you begin your new year? Do you set intentions? Do you make resolutions? Do you do rituals? Or do you just treat it like any other day?

Some traditions like to welcome in good luck and prosperity for the year ahead. Japanese culture worship the 7 lucky gods of fortune by, (according to Japanese mythology), practising the habit of keeping pictures of these seven gods, in a treasure boat, under their pillow or bed, as it is said to bring good luck. The Japanese folklore tells that these gods sailed through the heavens on a Treasure Ship during the first three days of the NewYear carrying mythical treasure. What is most interesting, is that among these 7 gods, only one is native to Japan, which I think is beautiful, its almost like a realisation that prosperity comes from a collective unity. Which is a beautiful intention to start any year ahead with.

It is also said that the first 12 day of the year can represent the whole year. Therefore January 1 stands for the month of January, January 2 for February, January 3 for March and so on. By practising loving kindness, being of service, and holding the vibration of love while giving thoughtful attention to the significance of each of these 12 days, you could consecrate your intentions for the coming year in the first 12 days.

Moving on to 6 January is something that many of us are familiar with. January 6th is the celtic festival dedicated to the Maid, Mother and Crone, collectively known as the Three-Fold Goddesses or the Triple Goddess. This day is also said to be the old Christmas day. Both of which is a lovely supportive energy to have with us as this is the day that the much anticipated line up commences.

So what is this line up and what do we know about this?

Between 6 and 13 January we are going to encounter a historical planetary line up that we would not have and will not again, experience this lifetime (and probably will not want to experience again as this is going to feel heavy).

During this time Saturn conjuncts pluto (meaning they will be side by side – amplifying each others energies).

Saturn is known as the planet that represents restrictions, limitations, justice and authority – somewhat like listening to your parents. But it can teach us how to master our lives if we learn the lessons it brings.

Pluto is the planet of creative destruction, its the planet of death and rebirth, but there is usually a dark night to be had before the rebirth as Pluto likes to 'force' change by exposing shadowy aspects that have been operating behind the scenes.

These planets conjunct at 22 degrees of capricorn.

Capricorn represents rules, politics, big businesses, superpower countries and multi-national corporations.

And finally 22 degrees in astrology basically isn't pretty. Some say nothing good can happen at this degree.

So a conjunction like this, in a degrees like this, its likely to bring out the dark side of everything involved. When you break it down like this it is understandable why it has been forecast that the weeks surrounding this could be a peak moment in our history, which could bring about global change and reformation in the power, a fundamental evolutionary shift.

Its being said that the foundations may start to shake around the full moon in cancer, which will also be a lunar eclipse taking place on 10th Jan at 2.21pm EST and 7.21pm UK time.

The January full moon is commonly known as the Wolf moon, named after howling wolves communicating over long distances as a way of saying 'here I am', that were said to be more vocal in these winter months. Calling on the spirit of the wolf during this full moon is something that could help us through this intense period as the wolf is said to have the ability to endure brutality and provide protection.

The focus of this full moon and moon eclipse could very well be around communication as the sun conjuncts mercury in this planetary mix. But as it is closing into that 22 degrees under the dark dictatorial influence of saturn and pluto the darker side of communication will be brought to the surface, we could see some cold, oppressive and authoritarian energy coming forward. This will bring out the energy of bullies and possibly ruthless words so protecting the sensitive, the vulnerable and the timid will be something to consider, including putting up protection for yourselves and loved ones. At a global level we might see Rulers and States try to increase their grip on power.

We are all likely to feel emotionally challenged in some way during this weekend with some kind of feeling of opposition such as 'what we have vs what we need ' or 'home vs work' and this kind of opposition can lead to inner turmoil and conflict that is draining on our energy. This tension will unfortunately become supercharged by the lunar eclipse, full moon and the conjunctions and degrees at play. It has been said that we will feel intense tension which may give rise to mental instability, sadness, loneliness and mood swings.

Uranus, the planet of change, community and revolution then turns direct, after being retrograde for 5 months on 11 January, the day before the much talked about conjuction in 22 degrees becomes exact on 12th January at 11.59 EST.

We may or may not see something happen at this time but it is more than likely a ball will have been set in to motion during this intense period.

With Mercury, the planet of communication and the sun joining this 22 degree conjunction we might see some kind of headline (sun) news (mercury) in all things Capricorn.

Because apparently all of this is not quite enough, we have the Astroid Siris (representing the Earth) and the star Ceres and castor joining the party.

The shadow side of castor can bring loss, insecurity and mental instability and Ceres can create maternal tension – perhaps parent/child issues may arise or be triggered, or a feeling of wanting to run away from our responsibilities.

One thing you can be sure of, is not to tussle with the law this weekend and not to Thrashing about in this energy as it will only bring further conflict. What comes up, needs to come out and surrender this to the universe. Its safe to say it doesnt sound much like it will be a laugh!

Now there is a way to find out which part of your life will mostly be affected by this conjuction and this is something that we can share on our pages. You will need to draw up your chart and then draw up the transit to see which house this conjunction is happening in.

If you go to the website astro.com and select free horoscopes which is in the blue bar along the top of the page. Next, select extended chart selection and add in your birth data. Then, under 'sections' choose the chart type and select 'natal chart and transits'. Lastly under options you can change theJanuary finally sees us enter the long awaited year or 2020. You need to look for the saturn / pluto symbols and here you can see what number house this will be happening in for you. If its happening on a cusp you may want to consider both of the 2 houses that are on either side of the cusp.

Is there a way to minimise the effects? If you have done the work then this conjunction may not bring up many personal surprises for you, just discomfort, however you may be indirectly affected by others around you that have not done this work. Look to be of service. As Yogi Bajan says 'Blessed be the ones who serve others – they are the ones who find heaven on earth.'

Love conquers all....always and I would say it will be a good idea to surround yourself this month by anything that helps you to stay in the vibration of love; music, crystals, yoga, healing, whatever it is that works best for you.  Eat well, sleep well, and journal so as to support your body as much as you can. Is it realistic that we can avoid these deep feels? I suspect not, but being forewarned is forearmed and if you know which area of your life may be impacted then get your story straight in your head before this event in case you start to mentally challenge yourself on this. Try to do things this month that lift your soul, not restrict it.

For those who are impacted, ripple effects unfortunately may continue for the rest of the month.

But what next? What else will happen in January?

On Monday 20th we move into delightful and genius thinking Aquarius.

Aquarius responds to Capricorn’s energy of practicality and ambition by giving us permission to think of the future in a different way. Rather than encouraging us to focus on hard work, achievements, and material successes, Aquarius encourages us to let ourselves be imaginative and encourages us to think of futures that defy all the rules. Some say that aquarius energy is a little weird, but if you know of any Aquarians, you'll know that they are lovable, quirky beings who always give us something to smile about,

Aquarius' planetary ruler is Uranus, the planet of change and revolution. On the more practical side, this means that Aquarius is the sign of progress and technological innovation; but its known to be the the sign of rebels and geniuses who don’t care about creating “useful” products.

It is the most far-out and humanitarian sign, so expect to channel the hippie vibes of this sign during this period, focusing on socialising, networking and community, approaching life with a more open heart and cooperation, seeing the benefits of collaborating and working with a team.

We have a lovely opportunity around this time to look to the skies and visually see some of our favourite planets:

On 20/21 Mars will be visible in the sky, 22/23 lucky jupiter will visible and then 27/28 our favourite planet of love, Venus will be visible.

On Friday 24th January we have a new moon in Aquarius at 9.42pm UK time and 4.42mpm EST.

There is a square to uranus at this new moon which could create a cry of rebellion both collectively and individually, with some unfinished business at play as we continue to shed, purge and process feeling a complicated relationship with our emotions. Aquarius is helpful in digital and online spaces so this could be a great place for new beginnings in networking and social activism.

The next day, Jan 25 is the Chinese new years day. 2020 is the Chinese year of the white metal rat – symbolising intelligence and building wealth with an outgoing personality.

29th January is the fifth lunar day of Chinese   New Year and is the Welcome Day for the God of the Wealth which also corresponds with a day to pay our respects to the Goddess Saraswati the goddess of knowledge and learning.

It is said that donating and worshipping musical instruments on this day holds a special importance as it enhances the skills, intelligence, and memory of the worshipper.

And that takes us to the end of month where we wrap up the January 2020 energy forecast, which we hope you have enjoyed.

Many thanks for listening and we hope you have a blessed, safe and happy January x
